The Don Pullen - George Adams Quartet was one of the best (i.e., among my favorite) jazz groups of the 80s. They emerged, in part, from a Charles Mingus band (all except Cameron Brown). The title "Requiem for Dannie Richmond" at the opening refers to their previous drummer. I've actually dreamed I was playing Pullen's piano solo (as recorded on their Blue Note Breakthrough album, which is highly recommended). Michele Hendricks is Jon's daughter.
Just a short preview of what the Jitterbug Palace will offer.
