Long before Dudley Moore came to the U.S., he was half of
the British comedy team of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore (aka Pete'n'Dud),
who clearly had a big influence on the Pythons. (Look for old episodes
of their BBC TV show Not Only . . . But Also to see what I mean.)
Their original version of Bedazzled, 1969, was directed by Stanley Donen;
Dudley Moore wrote the music.
I first saw this in the Columbia Theatre in Berlin.
